A blog about desktop linux use as well as the travails of running a home server. I write from the perspective of an amateur idiot rather than a sysadmin or network engineer and whenever possible include my mistakes and misconceptions about a problem before arriving at a solution so we can learn and laugh and cry together.

The site is named for Brokkr, a dwarf from Nordic mythology who helped craft Thor's hammer Mjolnir to surpass the achievements of the Sons of Ivaldi and so win a bet against Loki. Something something free vs. proprietary software metaphor.
